BETTY & THE BOBS
Betty and the Bobs was formed as an extracurricular vehicle for a group of Toronto musicians and friends who had worked together in different combinations. The mandate is to do all the songs they have ever wanted to do, but would never get around to doing in their own bands. This includes a bunch of old tunes they grew up with — country, blues, R&B, Beatles, gospel, old jazz, as well as some wacky original songs.

ELLEN MCILWAINE
An amazing vocalist and slide guitarist; she was a big musical influence for me, I even got to play bass with her on a number of occasions. Sadly, she passed away in 2021. There is a documentary coming out about her life called Goddess of Slide; it is being produced by Alfonso Maiorana (Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World) and Agata de Santis.  The documentary is scheduled to come out in 2024.

LADYBIRD ANIMAL SANCTUARY
Ladybird Animal Sanctuary is a unified voice for abandoned, abused and neglected animals in the Hamilton ON area. Together, through a system of volunteers, foster homes, educators, animal lovers and exceptionally generous people, they aim to eliminate the unnecessary suffering of domestic animals in local high-kill shelters. Ladybird rescues cats, dogs, small animals and even farm animals and never shy away from rescuing senior animals, those with costly medical issues and the so-called ‘hard to adopt’. I adopted my sweet rescue cat, Cinnamon, through the Ladybird Animal Sanctuary.
